Fashion designer Claes Iversen presents uniquely designed tapestries and thus takes his first step in the interior design industry. Claes Iversen has designed more than fifty different tapestries for the new Hotel Mercier. The artworks can be found in the public areas but also in all hotel rooms. In addition, there are also paintings and couture pieces of his hand in the hotel and he expresses his emphatic stamp on the artistic decoration of the hotel.
It is the ambition of Claes Iversen to continue to develop tapestries and to seek the boundary between couture and commerce. For this project Claes Iversen has entered into a partnership with Frankly Amsterdam for part of the carpets. Frankly Amsterdam has mastered all artisanal techniques to make high-quality carpets. The collaboration will result in limited-edition wall tapestries and a collection of rugs. Claes Iversen will also focus on the creation of soft furnishing (including poufs, bedspreads, pillows and curtains).
