The illustrator-poet has designed a Petit Bateau capsule collection inspired by the oceans for babies, kids and grownups.
SERGE BLOCH AND PETIT BATEAU, A CHEEKY STORY
From the very beginning, the encounter between the illustrator and the knitter was full of mischief. In 2013, to celebrate the brand’s 120th birthday, Petit Bateau asked Serge Bloch to illustrate a book of... silliness. This «catalogue of (very) cheeky nonsense» set the tone for the relationship: it’s all about fun, and lots of it! Because, as Serge Bloch says, «The world is not all that funny, so we might as well add some fantasy!»
SERGE BLOCH Serge Bloch has a special place in the world of illustration in France, perhaps because he has explored far beyond its borders. With one foot in Paris and the other in New York, the native of Colmar collaborates with the most prestigious press titles on both sides of the Atlantic. But this incorrigible whiz kid is also a successful children’s author, while simultaneously creating a personal body of work exhibited in art galleries in Europe, the Americas and Asia. This may be one of his secrets: the ability to communicate with everyone with the same light touch, and never let himself be locked in a box.
